this is probably how most of us are looking now.
yes, this is the time of the MUGFEST. see see it is in CAPS because of its sheer EPICNESS.
(though i'm not really as hardcore as i should be, since my papers are super spaced out)
in the middle of the week, i decided to pop over to Bugis after running errands in Raffles Place. i tried this SUPER DUPER YUMMY unagi rice pizza, before going to the supermarket to buy junk food and treats. :D i tell you, the people at the cashier were staring at what i bought--all unhealthy junk food (typical teenager food). hey come on dudes it's not as if they were ALL meant for me, k. in fact most of them were for other people HAHA.
the short shopping trip was followed by a really long bus ride back to Hall on bus 33. i decided not to listen to any music or sleep, and simply observe this looong route in order to find out where else this bus went and WHY it takes so long to get to NUS. i ended up spending the long ride back reflecting on my life thus far. hoohoohoo.
i passed many many places of nostalgia, places which hold a lot of memories and meaning for me:
Bugis Street. officially my FAVOURITE shopping hangout on the island. because this place has saved my ass quite a number of times on my costume hunting trips. i still remember chionging here for EMCC costumes, some of them just a day before vetting. and i got them pretty cheap! :D the Flicks and i also came here to get our costumes for Impre finals! we were walking around a lot and it was really fun hanging out with them and shopping, even though it's not really the boys' kind of thing. i also remember buying my corset here under the recommendation of the Flicks. :)
i reeeeally love shopping here and want to go back soon. but must go back during a WEIRDASS time so we won't have to fight with the crowd.
Peninsular Shopping Centre. where i began hardcore buying hiphop clothes, where the bboys used to come to buy their Dickies/caps, where Sali and i went shopping, where the Flicks and i came to buy caps and sweats.
Clarke Quay. the place i used to teach for a short while, before i realised that i was being a pushover and letting my boss walk all over me in terms of class schedules and pay. it was a good experience, i learnt much about teaching--how you need to have stamina to teach, talk, explain and do the moves full out every single time. also, you need to be really good at explaining the counts and timing of your choreography, and explaining the technique underlying it. counting while doing full out isn't easy, it requires stamina too. so, i did take a lot away from that experience, but i don't want to teach there again. :P hehe.
Chinatown. i passed by the exact McDonalds we were breakfasting in before our photoshoot! still remember all the funny rubbish we were doing, and how scared we were because we thought we looked too young compared to our competition. ^_^" heehee. hanging around Chinatown was funnyyyy, i miss having fun like that!
Tiong Bahru Tshirt Printing place. the place tieren brought me and suu when we were looking for a tshirt printer. although the Tshirt company thing never really worked out, i'm thankful for the experience. :)
...
...design. dance. hum.
when i reflect about the past, i think about the present, and the future. where i am now, how far i've come.
i'm worried about my future in art--in performing arts AND graphic art. my design portfolio did well, but because of the late submission, i had a substantial cut in my grade. if i don't do well for the design module in the end, i'm not sure how willing my mum will be to let me continue down this path in life. it's something i KNOW i want to do, but if mum says no because my academic grades aren't showing that i'm academically good at it, i might have to fight to do what i want to do. again.
in dance, i just don't want to think so much about my future. i want to live in the NOW, to zham performances, classes, skills in order to level up quickly, so that hopefully i can at least have a part-time job to do with dance in the future. i'm actually really looking forward to my Swaggout class--i'm really looking forward to seeing how the pros do it, and actually meeting them! Ellen Kim!! she's sooo awesome. really hoping that Blast! will be able to bring Kyle and Lyle and her in so all of us can learn together! the classes are pretty expensive though, the price put me off for awhile as well... but once i decided to take them, i'm making an effort to save the money. which means hall food for dinner every night i can help it. x___x
-------
after the exams, i want to pick up on The Everyday Tales Of Fizz And Plurp. (TETOFAP) my simple comic project involving two main characters Fizz and Plurp. while i was supposed to be studying User Preferences and Representations and Prototyping and whatnot, i finished altering their designs and drew storyboards for their comics. :D hehehe. maybe i'll upload them on my sketchblog soon wheehee.
every time i try to bring a character to life, it's like bringing an aspect of me to life. plus minus a bit, here and there. it's like expressing myself, like how different dances help me express myself in different ways. :)
i miss dancing with my friends. sigh.
-------
recently, my dreams have been keeping me smiling till i have to wake up and realise...
...they were just dreams.
