another day gone.

practice today went well. it was a small group, so we managed to learn the dance pretty effectively and well. thank you liew qi for taking time to teach us!!! XD

guitar concert wasn't bad. nic and ezra came too, though nic had to leave halfway. was particularly impressed by their version of NUMB. woot that song really kicked butt. X)) shouted for veron, wenyan, changjie, adrian, honghui, yogi and jianan and of course ran out of breath while shouting. thomas just kept shouting for jianan! XD even when jianan wasn't supposed to be seen (even though he was, obviously) moving props on and off the stage. XP oh man, everyone around us found it really funny as well. LUCKILY. XD

oh yeah, and when we got to the RUA, ezra was fascinated by the presence of this little boy, WHO HAPPENED TO HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME NAME. he was so happy that he found a miniature version of him, though i honestly see no resemblence whatever. come on, the little kid was like way cuter. XD just kidding, ezra.

but there was something else about the concert as well.

seeing the hwachong audi stage, backstage and our beloved RUA again was a surprisingly overwhelming experience. as jane, suat, yueling, chuan, carol, cheryl, kelvin, thomas, ezra and i fought our way up the stage to the small area behind the curtains, i remembered standing there in that very spot, waiting excitedly for our turn to get on stage and do our thing.

backstage, there was the now empty spot where the piano was at first, where i remember half of us tripped/crashed into/stubbed a toe/hit a somepart before numerous cursings and swearings. pretty unprofessional, but what do you expect? the bloody piano took up all the space we needed to actually move so we ended up being sardine-d against the walls or having to crawl under it to get to the other side. XD

then there was that area behind the screen where we were to wait before our item. i remember running through the entire showstopper routine and doing several body waves (yes, exactly the kind nic does at traffic lights) or knee pops or torso isolations or hip jerks in preparation for it. i also remembered opening my umbrella 2-3 times just to check if it was working properly. :)

then our large group proceeded down the stairs that lead to the RUA. during Mosaic, we'd be so excited preparing for our items that we had to be chased up the stairs to get ready to go on stage or we'd totally forget that we actually have to go up before we can get to the stage. i had never felt more excited and ready when climbing that flight of stairs. it was as if i could feel that adrenaline rush again when i climbed down those very stairs tonight.

finally, of course, that brought us to the RUA. :) this place is seriously one of the most home-y place we've ever been in. it's kind of like the MAD version of the guide room. we could do simply anything in it: mug, sleep, dance, play games, talk crap, choreo, etc etc etc. if we didn't constantly face the risk of being chased out of it by a certain security guard, i bet you that we'd find some excuse to go there and stay there the whole day, with or without MAD practice.

the RUA was where we went to when we needed a place to practise, but it was also a place we went to that i could safely say i felt fully comfortable in. (not considering the threat of being thrown out of it nowadays) in there, i really felt like part of the school, and i didn't feel like going home after i've been there during the day.

haha, yeah. i'm horrible. XD

anyway, GREAT JOB:
VERON//WENYAN//CHANGJIE//ADRIAN//YOGI//HONGHUI//JIANAN.
you guys rock. hope you enjoyed the time on stage, backstage, and especially in the RUA as much as we did. :)
